MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Acting Public Works Minister Ruth Coker-Collins says over one-thousand homes will be affected in the expansion of the Roberts International Airport Highway.

Minister Collins said:” Actual work has already begun and demolition of homes is expected to begin in September, while those affected will be compensated in June this year.”

She said over seven-hundred-thirty-thousand United States Dollars will be disbursed to affected people.

The Acting Public Works Minister said contractors have begun the expansion of the highway with landscaping, coming from the Dolo Town area in Margibi County.

Minister Collins said the project will run from two fronts, ELWA Junction to the Rock Church in Duazon as the first, while the second stretches to the Dolo Town area.

Minister Collins further said that the RIA Highway project will last for three years, and the company carrying out the project will manage the road for additional two years for monitoring purposes.
