Nat’l Asso. of Prosecutors confirms decision to boycott May Term of Court…..

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The National Association of Prosecutors of Liberia has confirmed its members’ decision to boycott the May Term of Court in the Country.

The Prosecutor’s decision is contained in a communication to Justice Minister Musa Dean.

The decision was reached in a mass meeting presided over by the Association’s Acting President, Cllr. Adolphus Karnuah.

State Prosecutors cited multiple problems they are confronted with, including what they termed as unwarranted deduction of their meager salaries and benefits.

They also attributed their action to the failure of the Justice Ministry to underwrite their dues at the Liberia National Bar Association (LNBA), as was done by the previous administration, and the lack of funds for litigation.

According to ELBC Judicial Reporter, though the Justice Ministry is yet to respond to the Prosecuting Lawyer’s concern, their pending boycott action comes with just few days to the opening of the May Term of Court.
