Justice Ministry, partners adopt Nat’l Policy Doc on Alternative Dispute Resolution

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Justice Ministry and partners have adopted a National Policy Document on Alternative Dispute Resolution in Liberia.

Presenting the document Thursday, November 12, 2020, at the close of a two-day stakeholder consultative forum in Monrovia, Assistant Justice Minister for Codification, Abraham Mitchell, said:” The policy document is designed to enhance access to justice.”

The Assistant Minister also said:” The Document is also an integrated and coordinated framework aimed at encouraging reconciliation among Liberians, mainly at the grassroots level.”

He said reduction of cases on courts dockets and prolonged detention are major challenges of the Country’s Justice System that must be addressed, under the policy.

The Consultative Forum brought together representatives from civil society organizations, the judiciary and other key partners.
