Asset Declaration remains a challenge….-Mr. Furnani

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-USAID’s Legal Professional Development and Anti-Corruption (LPAC) says assets declaration remains a challenge, at the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC).

Mr. John Furnani said:” Some Government officials have not yet filed in their asset declaration forms to the dismay of the LPAC.”

Mr. Furnani wants those who have declared their assets as yet to do so in keeping with the law.

He made the remarks on Wednesday, October 21, 2020, when the Liberia Bar Association held a farewell program at its Headquarters for his numerous contributions to Liberia’s Legal System and the Country at large.

Mr. Furnani, however, expressed the hope that the Whistle Blower Protection Bill will be passed and called on USAID and the LNBA to ensure the passage of the Bill.

In another development, Justice Minister says despite the challenges in the implementation of the Rule of Law, the Government of Liberia remains firm in protecting all Liberians and foreign residents.

Cllr. Dean said:” Respecting the rights of people is importing in promoting the Rule of Law, peace and tranquility.”

The Justice Minister made the remarks during a program in honor of USAID/LPAC Chief of Party, John Furnani, at the Headquarters of the Liberia Bar Association.

Cllr. Dean said contributions made by Mr. Furnani will forever be remembered in the Legal System of Liberia.

He said USAID/LPAC’s presence was tremendously felt during his stay in Liberia.
