Gov’t’s COVID-19 Food Support Program Begins Actual Food Distribution for Vulnerable People

MONROVIA, LIBERIA – The Steering Committee of Government’s Covid-19 Food Support Program says actual food distribution has begun for vulnerable people across Liberia.

According to the committee, the food distribution followed months of planning and test distribution.

The Head of the Steering Committee, Commerce Minister Wilson Tarpeh, said the food distribution is being executed and would be fully implemented to enhance public trust.

Speaking at the Ministry of Information Press briefing Thursday, Minister Tarpeh said the system has been vetted.

Meanwhile, Minister Tarpeh said an investigation is ongoing for alleged theft of the food ration by a company sub-contracted to implement the distribution exercise.
