Two international financial groups hail Liberia’s effort in promoting Budget Transparency

MONROVIA, LIBERIA -The Global Initiative for Fiscal Transparency and the International Budget Partnership have hailed Liberia’s effort to promote budget transparency.

In a communication to Finance Minister, Samuel Tweah, the United States-based international financial groups jointly praised the Ministry for the initiative aimed at disclosing information on the usage of public resources.

According to a release, the groups also commended the Liberian Government for effecting a six percent increase in the 2019 edition of the International Budget Partnership’s Open Budget Survey.

The international partners said Liberia has collaborated in sharing its own experience and benefited from peer-to-peer technical collaboration being offered by the Global Initiative for Fiscal Transparency network.

They also pledged to assist Liberia with the greatest possible fiscal transparency in the Country’s fight to eliminate COVID-19.
