MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President Joseph Boakai, Thursday, joined members of the National Legislature in signing a Book of Condolence for former Representative, Solomon George.

The former Montserrado County District #7 Representative died recently in Monrovia after a brief illness.

On Thursday, President Boakai described the late lawmaker as a passionate and outspoken public servant, whose contributions to Liberia’s political landscape will long be remembered.

Former Representative George, who passed away on February 27, was widely known for his vocal advocacy and dynamic presence in national discourse.

He served two terms in the Legislature as Representative for Montserrado County District #7 from 2011 to 2023.

The opening of the Book of Condolence marks the start of official funeral rites in tribute to the late Lawmaker.

As part of the ongoing arrangements, his body is currently lying in state at the Capitol Building in Monrovia.

Funeral services for the late Montserrado County Representative are scheduled for Saturday, March 28, 2026.

Meanwhile, members of the House have since extended their deepest condolences to the bereaved family, friends, and loved ones.

The National Legislature says Representative George will be remembered for his dedicated service to the nation and his unwavering commitment to the people of Liberia.
