Jason, Betty Saylee Education Foundation Recognizes…

TAPPITA, NIMBA COUNTY, LIBERIA-The Jason and Betty Saylee Education Foundation has recognized the contributions of several individuals and organizations to national progress.

The awardees were drawn from the health, education, civil society, Local Government, and the Business Community of Tappita District, Nimba County.

According to the organizers, the initiative aims at recognizing the immense contributions of citizens who have, over the years, imparted lives through their professions.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation, Chris Saylee, said,” The annual exercise is my own way of giving back to my people, whilst remaining connected to them”.

Saylee admonished the recipients to continually serve as ambassadors of change through their actions and deeds.

The National President of the United Nimba Citizens organization in the Americas, Samuel Gee, made remarks on behalf of the awardees and urged his colleagues to remain agents of change in their respective fields of discipline.

Samuel Gee, during his deliberation, emphasised the importance of STEM Education as a key component to revitalizing the country’s education sector.

Gee said,” The world is rapidly advancing through technology, and if Liberia must get on par with the rest of the world, the Government must seriously invest in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics fields to increase productivity and attract investments”.

The Jason and Betty Saylee Education Foundation was founded in 2021 by Chris Saylee, in honour of his parents, with the aim of helping the underprivileged population through education and other goodwill ventures.

Since 2021, the Foundation has organized a series of community tournaments, high school quizzing, and provided financial aid to some students in schools in Tappita and those hailing from Tappita attending the Nimba University College in Sanniquelle and other Universities in Monrovia.
