NIMBA COUNTY, LIBERIA-The Liberia National Police Detachment in Nimba County is investigating a shooting incident that occurred along the Gboa Gehwee Town-Sanniquellie Highway, involving a motorcyclist.

The victim, identified as Roland Gbeyi, 17, was discovered lying beside the roadway with a gunshot wound after a gunshot was heard in the area.

According to the police, they received a report of the incident from a local journalist who stated that they heard a gunshot while travelling along the highway, and later encountered the victim at the crime scene.

Police officers responded promptly and immediately launched an investigation. Three persons of interest have been arrested and are currently being questioned.

The victim was rushed to the G.W. Harley Hospital for emergency medical treatment, where he is currently being observed by health practitioners.

The police say medical authorities have indicated that he may be transferred to the John F. Kennedy Memorial Center in Monrovia for further care.
