Liberia’s Supreme Court Opens Its March Term of Court Today

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Supreme Court of Liberia will today, Monday, March 9, 2026, open its March Term.

President Joseph Boakai is expected to grace the occasion.

It will be the Chief Justice, Yemie Gbeisay’s second court opening since succeeding former Chief Justice Sie-Nyeneh Yuoh.

According to the ELBC Judicial Reporter, today’s opening will witness the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Senate Pro-Temp, members of the diplomatic corps gracing the occasion, alongside Counselors, Judges, and Judicial officers.

The Supreme Court opens twice a year for the March and October Terms.

In another development, the Grand Jury of Montserrado County has finally indicted former National Security Agency’s Agent, Peter Bonn Jallah, with a True Bill.

A True Bill means that the Jury has seen reasons for the indictment to be drawn against an accused.

Defendant Jallah, who is currently detained at the Monrovia Central Prison, was accused of sodomizing a sixteen-year-old boy.

With the indictment, it means that the case will be assigned to Criminal Court “E” for hearing during this March Term of Court.
