MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Ministry of Education has officially commenced the Early Market Engagement for the Excellence in Learning in Liberia (EXCEL) Project.
The project, valued at over eighty-eight million United States dollars, is aimed at transforming primary education in Liberia.
Speaking at the launching ceremony on Monday in Congo Town, Education Minister, Dr. Jarso Jallah, said the project seeks to improve learning outcomes, strengthen school leadership, and enhance the quality of education from Kindergarten Two (K-2) through Grade Six.
According to her, the engagement provides a platform for the private sector, development partners, and other stakeholders to share insights and perspectives, helping to design realistic, competitive, and market-responsive procurement processes.
Dr. Jallah added that the session is not a bidding process, but an opportunity to ensure transparency, fairness, and accountability in all procurement, in line with World Bank regulations, the Public Procurement and Concession Commission Act, and international best practices.
Meanwhile, she thanked participants for their collaboration, noting that their input is vital to the success of the EXCEL Project and its goal of delivering lasting impact for teachers, schools, and children across Liberia.
