Finance Minister Ngafuan Urges Ministries, Agencies Not to Delay…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Minister of Finance and Development Planning, Augustine Ngafuan, is urging ministries and agencies of the Liberian Government not to delay in the execution of the budget chain, which will hinder President Joseph Boakai’s quest for the acceleration of national development.

Minister Ngafuan warned that the Government does not budget executors to be at the mercy of the Liberian people whose livelihoods need to be improved.

He spoke on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at the Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf Ministerial Complex in Congo Town at the start of a three-day budget execution workshop on the 2026 National Budget.

He, at the same time, urges financial personnel to be transparent in the operations by allowing proper documentation to pass and denying others that are rightfully done.

Meanwhile, Assistant Finance Minister for Budget, Sarah Mulbah, the gathering seeks to reinforce a common understanding of the legal, policy, and institutional framework on budget execution.

Minister Mulbah also said,” It will focus on budget execution processes and procedures, compliance and reporting, and public procurement processes and procedures”.

The three-day workshop is under the theme: “Strengthening Government Budget through Transparency, Accountability and Inclusive Budget Implementation”.

It is being attended by financial personnel from various government ministries and agencies.
