MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The House of Representatives has cited the Ministers of Health, Education, Finance, and Development Planning, and the Director General of the Civil Service Agency (CSA) over the prolonged delay in putting volunteer teachers and health workers on the payroll of the Government of Liberia.
The decision followed an official communication from Representative Anthony Williams of Pleebo, Sodoken District One in Maryland County.
Representative Williams said, despite budgetary support and increments to address volunteer teachers and health workers, the problem still exists.
He also wants a full report on the total number of volunteer teachers and health workers currently being placed on payroll, and ongoing efforts to increase enrollment.
The Maryland County Lawmaker said continuous delay in placement is hugely undermining the Education and Health Sectors.
Meanwhile, the Ministers of Health, Education, Finance, and Development Planning, and the Director General of the CSA are expected to appear in plenary on Thursday, January 29, 2026.
