Maryland County Legislative Caucus Wants Maryland Oil Palm, Cavalla Rubber Plantation Concession Agreements Review

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Maryland County Legislative Caucus is calling for the review of the concession agreements of the Maryland Oil Palm Plantation and the Cavalla Rubber Plantation.

It followed a petition from the residents of Maryland County recently.

The Chairman of the County Caucus, Senator Gbleh-bo Brown, said,” Provisions of the two concessions call for review after five years”.

Senator Brown disclosed that after sixteen years of operations, the concessions have not been reviewed, raising concerns among residents and lawmakers of the county.

He noted that the revision is in the interest of the citizens and the companies, as it borders on compliance and is in keeping with the law.
