MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The National Food Assistance Agency (NFAA), with support from the NK Medical Supplies, has donated assorted food items to three vulnerable groups across Monrovia.
Top NK is an organization owned by a Liberian philanthropist, Peterlyn Morrison, based in the United States, providing support to Liberians at home and abroad.
The items include bags of rice, cartons of vegetable oil, gallons of red oil, plantains, cartons of Tinapa, sacks of water, and cereals.
The Deputy Director General for Operations at the NFAA, Elton Dickson, said,” The gesture is part of broader efforts to provide food aid to the insecure segment of the vulnerable population through its partners”.
The NFAA Deputy boss lauded the Top NK for continuous support, describing the support to the NFAA as critical to the Agency.
Dickson called on well-meaning Liberians at home and abroad, as well as other partners wishing to support the vulnerable population, to channel it through the NFAA.
Meanwhile, the President of the United Blind Association of Liberia (UBAL), Wilfred Gewon, lauded the NFAA for its continuous support and appealed for support towards the group’s water project.
Gewon said,” The project, which started with funding from a Liberian based in the United States, has been halted due to inadequate funds”.
The UBAL President is also appealing to individuals and stakeholders to come to their aid.
At the same time, heads of other benefiting institutions appreciated the NFAA for the donation.
The beneficiaries include the United Blind Association of Liberia, the Disabled Children Rehabilitation Organization, and the Comfort K. Toe Orphanage.
