MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President Joseph Boakai has vowed never to use state resources for personal gain.
President Boakai’s statement comes in reaction to recent media reports alleging that he is building a private home in Foya District, Lofa County.
On the Super Morning Show on Friday, the Liberian Leader clarified that the project is intended to serve as a peace hub for the four Mano River Union member states.
He said it is important for Liberia, as a nation with a long history of conflict resolution, to build such a hub for peacebuilding in the MRU region.

The action is part of a broader effort to address the country’s growing waste management problem.

President Boakai said,” The planned recycling plant will help reduce plastic pollution, create jobs, and promote a cleaner and healthier environment”.

Additionally, the government has reiterated its commitment to creating employment opportunities for young people, as part of efforts to address rising youth unemployment across the country.
