Central Bank of Liberia to Launch Inclusive Instant Payment System

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Central Bank of Liberia (CBL) is expected to launch the Inclusive Instant Payment System (IIPS) digital platform on December 16, 2025.

IIPS is a digital system that will integrate payment platforms, including mobile money and other financial application programming, to facilitate cross-transfers.

CBL Head of Corporate Communications, Cllr. Alphonso Zeon told ELBC on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, that through the IIPS, government employees’ mobile wallets would be credited ahead of the payment of their full salary.

Cllr. Zeon noted that following the launch, Commercial Banks and other financial-related platforms will be integrated into the system to facilitate effective payments.

He said,” The managements of mobile and Orange Money are cooperating with the CBL on the project, to involve more people in the financial inclusion Ecosystem of the Country”.
