Senate Joint Committee on Transport, Concession and Investment Postpones Hearing…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Senate Joint Committee on Transport, Concession and Investment, on Monday postponed hearing into the high-power Exploration (HPX) agreement.

According to the Committee, neither the Minister of Finance nor any of his Deputies were present.

The Committee also claimed that it did not have agreement documents to hold the much-anticipated hearing.

ELBC Legislative Reporter said several Senators, including Samuel Kogar, Thomas Yaya Nimely, and Darius Dillon, demanded the presence of the finance minister or a Deputy due to the importance of the Agreement.

The Joint Committee also requested the Minister of Finance, Transport, Justice, and the National Investment Commission (NIC) to submit all relevant documents regarding the Agreement signed between the Government of Liberia and HPX Company before Thursday, December 11, 2025.

The HPX Agreement was submitted to the Liberian Senate recently by President Joseph Boakai for ratification.
