Liberian Senate to Pass Nat’l County Sports Meet Bill

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberian Senate is close to passing a bill, legislating the National County Sports Meet.

The bill title,” National County Sports Meet for Entertainment and Development,” was introduced recently by the Senator of River Gee County, Jonathan Sogbie.

Several Senators, including Joseph Jallah, Nyan Twayen, Bill Twehway, Thomas Yahyah Nimely, and Gbeh-Bo Brown, have all embraced the bill and are craving for its passage.

The Senators said,” The legislation will ensure that the government provides increased budgetary support, constructs housing and sports facilities in host counties, and promotes unity across the country, if passed”.

Meanwhile, the bill has been forwarded to the Committee on Youth and Sports for final cleansing to report within one week for onward debate and subsequent passage.
