Pres. Boakai Commits to Accountability, Truth, Reform in Liberia’s Forest Sector

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President Joseph Boakai says his administration is committed to accountability, truth, and reform in the Forestry Sector of Liberia.

President Boakai described the 2025 National Forest Forum as a crucial space for reflection, dialogue, and collective commitment to safeguarding Liberia’s rich forest heritage.

The Liberian Leader noted that, despite decades of international support and national attention, Liberia’s forest sector has yet to deliver on its promise of social, economic, and environmental dividends for its people.

President Boakai said,” Under my leadership, the Forest Sector will be rebuilt on the pillars of integrity, data-driven policy, and community benefit for sustainable growth”.

The President’s message was delivered by his Senior Advisor, Dr. Augustine Konneh, during the opening of the 2025 National Forest Forum at the Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf Ministerial Complex in Congo Town recently.
