MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Health Authorities in Bong County have confirmed the death of six persons, following a tragic motor accident along the Gbarnga-Monrovia Highway.
The incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon, October 22, 2025, when the tyre of a Taxi from Ganta, Nimba County, reportedly erupted, causing a collision with a pick-up heading to neighboring Guinea.
The Communication Director of the Phebe Hospital, Samuel Kplaiwru, told ELBC that five persons died instantly during the accident, while a pregnant woman was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.
According to Kplaiwru, eight passengers who sustained major injuries are currently seeking treatment at the Phebe Hospital.
Meanwhile, the Communication Director dismissed reports that the hospital had transferred some of the accident victims to the John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital in Monrovia for treatment.
