MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Government of Liberia has signed an agreement with the SCATEC Release Power for the construction of over 23-megawatt Peak Solar Power Plant.
Under the agreement signed by the Liberia Electricity Corporation, the company will also provide a 10-megawatt-hour battery storage at the LEC, Schieffelin site in Lower Margibi County.
An LEC release said the project is geared toward transforming Liberia’s Energy Sector.
In remarks, Finance Minister Augustine Ngafuan expressed the government’s deep appreciation to the partners who made the project possible.
Also speaking, the Managing Director of the LEC, Mohammed Sheriff, described the agreement as a defining moment in Liberia’s energy journey.
For his part, the Chief Executive Officer of SCATEC Release Power, Hans Kvalvaag, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting Liberia’s energy development goals.
