Finance and Dev. Planning Ministry, Partner Launch Fiscal Year 2026 Comprehensive Technical Review

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Finance and Development Planning Ministry, in partnership with the Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA), has launched a comprehensive technical review of revenue generation for the Fiscal Year 2026 Draft National Budget.

The in-depth analysis convenes technical experts from both institutions to rigorously evaluate current revenue performance, validate projections, and refine collection strategies.

In his opening remarks, Finance Minister Augustine Ngafuan said,” The primary objective of the review is to ensure that the Fiscal Year 2026 Draft aligns with the priorities of the ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development, and the expectations of the Liberian people”.

Minister Ngafuan commended the LRA Commissioner General and his team, along with all public servants involved in revenue generation, acknowledging the significant responsibility they bear in shaping a national budget that impacts the livelihoods of millions.

Also speaking, LRA Commissioner General Dorbor Jallah praised the strong collaborative partnership between the LRA and the Finance and Development Planning Ministry.

Commissioner Jallah emphasized their shared responsibility in ensuring robust revenue mobilization.

He noted that while fully financing the ARREST Agenda has presented challenges over the past two years, the review provides an opportunity to reassess the figures and develop proposals that will strengthen the revenue outlook.

The LRA Commissioner General added that the exercise extends beyond numerical analysis to ensure revenue projections are realistic, thereby granting the Government of Liberia the necessary fiscal space to deliver on its development promises.

Commissioner General Jallah concluded by lauding the LRA Team for their commitment and resilience in mobilizing lawful revenues to support Liberia’s development agenda.
