Labor Minister Cllr. Kruah Increases Foreign National Work Permit Fee

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Ministry of Labour has increased the fees of regular work permits for foreign national wanting to work in Liberia from one thousand to three thousand US Dollars.

The new measure, which began on September 4, 2025, called on every concessionaire to ensure that their work permits are duly processed before October 1, 2025.

In an interview, Labour Minister Cllr. Cooper Kruah said,” The new measure is aimed at ensuring Liberians are prioritized in the Labor Sector, as enshrined in the ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development.

Minister Kruah said the policy aligns with President Joseph Boakai’s vision and mandate to put Liberia first in the Labor Sector across all concessionaires.

Cllr. Kruah also said the new measure will reduce the alarming recruitment of foreign nationals in jobs intended for Liberians.

He said that though the new measure will ensure revenue generation, the ultimate target is to create jobs for Liberians across the country.

Labor Minister Cllr. Cooper Kruah then called on foreign companies to comply with the new measures, disclosing the President’s approval.
