MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Executive Director, Dr. Emmanuel Yarkpawolo, says Liberia has recorded progress in generating electricity to power the Liberian economy.
Speaking to the ELBC “News Day” program on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, in Paynesville City, Dr. Yarkpawolo pointed out the ongoing construction of a 20-megawatt solar farm in Monrovia, with plans to add another 15 megawatts later.
According to him, the goal is to increase the total solar capacity to 35 megawatts to enhance the city’s electricity supply.
He also emphasized the importance of integrating solar panels into the existing utility infrastructure to support the Country’s renewable energy goals.
The EPA Boss expressed Liberia’s openness to partnerships with any willing providers, ensuring that the Country does not end up in a disadvantaged position.
