MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The National Road Fund has presented a huge consignment of equipment as support to the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the execution of the Community-based Organization Secondary Road Maintenance Project in ten counties.
The equipment includes twenty-eight motorcycles, one twin-cabin Hilux Toyota Pickup, and a set of two laptops and two printers.
Speaking during the presentation ceremony at the National Road Fund Central Office in Monrovia on Monday, August 18, 2025, National Road Fund Manager Joe-se-ta Neufville Wentoe commended the Minister of Internal Affairs, Francis Nyumalin, for his farsightedness and innovation, which culminated in the pilot project.
Madam Wentoe entertained the hope that working together, they would meet the targets contained in the project plan.
She disclosed that over one thousand young people in the project-affected counties will be employed.
Benefitting counties from the project include Bomi, Grand Cape Mount, Montserrado, Margibi, Grand Bassa, Bong, Nimba, Lofa, River Gee, and Maryland Counties.
Meanwhile, receiving the equipment, Minister Nyumalin commended President Joseph Boakai for his political will, which continues to translate into the acceleration of development across the country.
He said,” With power being divulged and taken to local communities, the Internal Affairs Ministry is on the verge of exhibiting its capacity to deliver critical development throughout the country”.
Minister Nyumalin assured the National Road Fund Board and the Ministry of Public Works that the Community-based Organization Program Road Maintenance Pilot Project will be fully and satisfactorily executed.
The Internal Affairs Minister expressed the hope that by the end of the pilot project, the Public Works Ministry will see reason to award side road brushing and drainage clearing of roads throughout the ten project counties to the ministry.
