Gov. of Liberia Announces Arrangements for Tribute Payment to Fallen Minister of State Grigsby

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberian Government has announced arrangements for the public to pay tribute to the fallen Minister of State for Presidential Affairs, Sylvester Grigsby, who served the nation with dedication in multiple leadership roles.

A formal singing ceremony for the Book of Condolence will be held on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at the Executive Mansion’s Parlor.

The event will follow a structured order, beginning with President Joseph Boakai and members of the Cabinet, followed by the Vice President, Legislators, Supreme Court Justices, diplomats, and other dignitaries.

An Executive Mansion release says that from Friday, August 15, 2025, the Book of Condolence will be available to the public at the Foreign Ministry, where Minister Grigsby served prominently.

Liberia Embassies worldwide will also open condolence books on August 14 to allow citizens abroad to honor the memory of the fallen Statesman.

Meanwhile, President Boakai has ordered that the Liberian flag be flown at half-mast until Minister Grigsby’s burial.
