Assets Recovery, Property Retrieval Task Force Chairman Alarms over Attempt to Kill Him

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Chairman of the Assets Recovery and Property Retrieval Task Force has been alarmed over an attempt to kill him and his family by former Assistant Defence Minister, Philipbert Brown, and others.

Cllr. Edwin Martin alleged that Philipbert Brown wrote on his social media page, issuing death threats against him and his family due to his fight against corruption, including public officials.

Mr. Brown’s post alleged that Cllr. Martin’s anti-corruption fight failed to consider the risk and threats from some of the most powerful, influential, wealthy, and elite of the country that he is going after.

The AREPT Chief argued that Mr. Brown’s account clearly shows that he has full knowledge of a planned assassination attempt on his life and the lives of his family by the most powerful people in the Country.

Cllr. Edwin Martin’s allegation was contained in a communication to Police Inspector General Col. Gregory Coleman dated July 31, this year to seek to inquire from Philipbert Brown and be subjected to a criminal investigation regarding his social media post.
