GANTA, NIMBA COUNTY, LIBERIA-The Ministry of Justice, through the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Section, has commenced a comprehensive three-day training workshop for community leaders and local justice actors in Ganta, Nimba County.
The initiative, which runs from June 30 to July 2, is part of the ministry’s ongoing efforts to strengthen community-based justice mechanisms and promote peaceful conflict resolution at the grassroots level.
More than fifty participants, including traditional leaders, chiefs, women and youth representatives, magistrates, and officers from the Liberia National Police, among others, are participating.
The Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Liberia, Cllr. Oswald Tweh, in a message read by Gobah Anderson, reaffirmed the commitment of the Justice Ministry to expanding ADR training programs to other counties.
Mr. Anderson is quoted by the release as saying,” The training is in two phases, with one conducted in Greenville, Sinoe County, while the second phase comprises participants from Lofa, Bong, Grand Bassa, and Nimba Counties.
Meanwhile, the release also noted that participants will serve as ‘Ambassadors’ for the Alternative Dispute Resolution in their respective communities and places of work upon the completion of the training.
