Liberia Broadcasting System Boss Vows to Ensure Nat’l Television is Screened on DStv

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Director General of the Liberia Broadcasting System (LBS) has vowed to ensure that the National Television is screened on DStv in Liberia.

Director General Eugene Fahngon said,” It is a clear contradiction for DStv to be operating in Liberia and the National Television is not benefiting from its coverage.”

Speaking on Monday, June 30, 2025, in Monrovia, during the viewing of LBS’s modern television state-of-the-art equipment from England brought by the Liberian government through the LBS, worth over one hundred thousand US dollars, Mr. Fahngon said the case is not asleep.

According to him, the case took a break due to the impasse at the National Legislature, and now that peace has been restored at the Lower House, he will, in the coming days, write the Chairman of the House’s Committee on Telecommunication in continuation of the matter.

Director General Fahngon disclosed that DStv does not have anything in Liberia besides subscription to Liberians, and as such, the National Television, charged with the responsibility of providing television for the citizens, needs to benefit.

Meanwhile, the Liberia Broadcasting System Director General has described as unfortunate and falsehood that the State Television is not digital.
