Gov. of Liberia Prepares to Collaborate with Liberia Agricultural and Environmental Journalists Network

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Government of Liberia says it is ready to collaborate with the Liberia Agricultural and Environmental Journalists Network to unlock the rich agricultural potential of the Country.

 Deputy Agriculture Minister for Research and Extension, Moses Gbanyan, said:” Agriculture is the backbone of national development, and as such, the need for strong collaboration with reporters in the sector is crucial to enhancing food security in Liberia.”

Minister Gbanyan was speaking on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, in Paynesville at the start of a one-day Agricultural Journalism seminar organized by the Liberia Agricultural and Environmental Journalists Network and the International Federation of Agricultural Journalists.

He charged members of the Network to always highlight the untold challenges and successes of farmers in their reports by educating, inspiring, and influencing policies that foster agricultural development.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Agriculture Minister for Research and Extension has extolled the Liberia Agricultural and Environmental Journalists Network and the International Federation of Agricultural Journalists for the initiative.
