UNICEF Rep. Stresses Critical Need for Sustained in Liberia

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-UNICEF Representative, Andrew Brooks, has emphasized the critical need for sustained investment in Liberia’s education system to foster human capital development.

Mr. Brooks said,” Liberia risks falling behind globally if it fails to prioritize quality education for its youth.”

The UN envoy also highlighted the importance of equipping teachers with the necessary tools and training to deliver effective education, particularly in rural areas where resources are scarce.

He made the remarks on Monday, when UNICEF donated 30 Yamaha motorbikes to the Education Ministry, intended for use by Rural Teacher Training Institutes across Liberia.

Speaking earlier, Deputy Education Minister for Administration, Atty. Nyekeh Forkpa lauded UNICEF for the gesture whilst vowing to use it for the intended purpose.
