VP Koung Set to Participate in 10th Powering Africa Summit…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Vice President Jeremiah Koung is set to participate in the 10th Powering Africa Summit scheduled for March 6-7.

According to the Office of the Vice President, the visit marks a pivotal moment for the Vice President, dispelling ongoing speculation about his ties to the United States Government and his ability to engage with international partners.

The Summit, a premier platform for advancing US-Africa energy partnerships, will see Vice President Koung address the critical role of energy in Liberia’s ambitious ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development.

As Chairman of the High-Level Steering Committee on Liberia’s Energy Crisis, VP Koung is expected to outline a comprehensive framework of immediate, medium, and long-term strategies aimed at expanding access to affordable and reliable energy for all Liberians.

The Liberian Vice President’s address will also emphasize sustainable financing for energy projects, the importance of fostering innovation, and the need to strengthen partnerships between the U.S. and Liberia in the Energy Sector.

Meanwhile, Vice President Koung is expected to engage in high-level discussions with key U.S. officials from the Department of State and Energy, as well as several members of Congress.

A release says the meeting will focus on enhancing energy cooperation, economic development, and regional security, highlighting Liberia’s commitment to being a proactive partner in addressing energy challenges.

He will also host a town hall meeting with the Liberian Community in Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia metropolitan area, providing a platform for dialogue on national development, governance, peace, and security.

The engagement, according to the release, underscores the importance of connecting with the diaspora and integrating their insights into Liberia’s development agenda.

Following the Summit, Vice President Jeremiah Koung will travel to Pennsylvania on March 8 for another town hall meeting organized by the Liberian Association of Pennsylvania (LAP) and the Union of Liberian Associations in the Americas (ULAA).

The gathering will further facilitate discussions on national issues, reinforcing the connection between the Liberian Government and its citizens.
