Bomi County Senator Snowe Dismisses Media Reports…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Bomi County Senator Edwin Snowe has dismissed media reports that seventeen senators have signed a resolution to remove Senate Protemp Nyonblee Karngar-Lawrence.

 Senator Snowe said:” At no time did any senator sign a resolution seeking the removal of the Administrative Head of the Liberian Senate.”

The Bomi County Senator added that while there are issues at times, Senate members are capable of handling their disagreements.

He noted that the Senate is a house of elders and will continue to resolve any disagreement responsibly.

The Senate Committee Chair on Hydro-Carbon clarity comes in the wake of media reports alleging that members of the Senate are planning to remove Senate Protemp Nyonblee Kargar-Lawrence.

At the same time, the Senate has passed a bill repealing the 2012 Act creating the Bomi Community College.

The Bill seeks to elevate the college to a Western Region University.

It followed a report from the Senate’s Joint Committee on Education, Judiciary, Ways, Means, Finance, and Budget on Thursday, February 27, 2025.

Speaking to reporters on Capitol Hill, Senator Snowe described the passage of the Bill as a major boost to the educational system of the Western Region counties, including Bomi, Grand Cape Mount, and Gbarpolu.

The Bill has been forwarded to the House of Representatives for concurrence.
