Sen. Protemp Karnga-Lawrence Says 5th Nat’l Action Plan Shows Commitment to Transparency…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Senate Protemp Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence says the launch of the 5th National Action Plan of the Open Government Partnership (OGP) demonstrates Liberia’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and participatory governance.

Speaking at the launch of the OGP on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, in Monrovia, Protemp Lawrence said:” The country, as a member of the group, has made significant strides in improving access to information, open budgeting, anti-corruption measures, and citizens’ engagement.

She encouraged Liberians to move beyond rhetoric and take concrete legislative and policy actions that institutionalize the principles of open government in Liberia.

The Grand Bassa County Senator noted that the National Legislature stands ready to champion legal and oversight frameworks necessary to support the agenda of the OGP.

She commended the government, civil society actors, and development partners for their steadfast dedication to advancing open government in Liberia.

Senate Protemp Nyonblee Karngar-Lawrence also urged Liberians to uphold the principles of transparency, accountability, and citizen engagement to ensure a brighter future.
