Public Works Ministry Reaffirms Commitment to Transparency, Accountability…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Public Works Ministry has re-emphasized its commitment to transparency, accountability, and citizens’ engagement in governance through the Open Government Partnership (OGP).

The Ministry’s commitment was conveyed on Thursday, February 27, 2025, by Deputy Public Works Minister for Rural Development and Community Services Jocelia Taptah at the Ministry’s second Open Governance Initiative Open House as part of the OGP.

Minister Taptah said:” The Open House Initiative aims at providing public engagement on key projects of the ministry, and addresses challenges in understanding the ministry’s work.”

She noted that the objectives of the initiative also include informing the public about key projects and policies, engaging citizens and stakeholders, and encouraging accountability through public participation in infrastructure decision-making.

At the gathering on Thursday, presentations were done on key projects, including the Infrastructure Implementation Unit project, the African Development Bank project, the Liberia Urban Resilience Project, and the RIA road project.
