Edu. Minister Dr. Jallah Describes Teachers’ Training Institutes as Nerve Center…

KAKATA, MARGIBI COUNTY, LIBERIA-Education Minister Dr. Jarso Jallah has described Teachers’ Training Institutes (TTIs) as the nerve center of Liberia’s Education System.

Minister Jallah assured stakeholders that under her leadership, TTIs would undergo significant improvements, ensuring that teachers graduating from training institutions acquire the skills, knowledge, and confidence to deliver quality education.

She further stressed the importance of training “master trainers” with modern instructional skills to enhance teachers’ education.

Minister Jallah praised the support of partners toward strengthening Liberia’s teacher education system.

She urged Liberians to take ownership of the education system, emphasizing that they are resilient and capable of achieving feats when given the right opportunities.

Minister Jallah spoke on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, in Kakata at a program marking the induction of Sorna Sheriff as Director of the Kakata Rural Teacher Training Institute (KRTTI).

In a related development, the newly inducted Director of the Kakata Rural Teacher Training Institute, Sorna Sheriff, has vowed to lead with integrity, teamwork, and commitment to excellence in teacher education.

Madam Sheriff also expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Education, family, and colleagues, acknowledging the challenges she overcame to reach such a milestone.

She described her appointment as more than just a position, calling it a sacred responsibility to enhance teacher training in Liberia.

The newly inducted KRTTI Director stressed that quality teacher education is the backbone of national development, as teachers serve as architects of the future by shaping young minds.

Madam Sheriff reaffirmed that KRTTI plays a vital role in producing highly skilled educators, particularly through its ‘B’ and ‘C’ certificate programs, which prepare them for deployment across all fifteen counties in the Country.
