Zorzor Rural Teachers Training Institute’s Director Outlines Plans…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The newly inducted Director of the Zorzor Rural Teachers Training Institute (ZRTTI), Abe Kerkulah, has outlined innovative curriculum and holistic professional developments as institutional pillars for transformation.

 Mr. Kerkulah emphasized the need to modernize the curriculum to reflect contemporary teaching practices and equip teachers with the necessary skills and knowledge to enhance classroom learning.

He also stressed the importance of continuous faculty development, ensuring that instructors receive mentorship, training, and resources to improve their teaching.

The new ZRTTI Director also highlighted several pressing challenges currently affecting the institution, including severe understaffing, particularly in security and maintenance.

He has appealed to the government to increase the institution’s budget to adequately support its needs and also called on lawmakers from Lofa, Bong, and Nimba Counties to advocate for better funding and investment in teachers’ training.

In a related development, Deputy Education Minister for Administration, Atty. Nyekeh Forkpah has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to enhancing teachers training in Liberia.

Speaking as a special guest at the induction ceremony, Minister Forkpah emphasized the importance of investing in education infrastructure, curriculum development, and professional training for teachers.

Minister Forkpah commended the new leadership of ZRTTI and outlined the Ministry’s vision to empower future educators with modern teaching skills.

He noted that upgrading training programs and improving faculty capacity are key priorities for ensuring quality education in the country.

The Deputy Education Minister also emphasized that investment in teachers’ education is essential for national development.
