Gov. of Liberia Fines Sethi Brother Management $5,000.00…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has fined the management of Sethi Brothers five thousand U.S. Dollars, following the completion of an investigation into the recent explosion at the company’s facility that claimed the life of staff.

The amount is to be paid into the Liberian Government’s account at the Liberia Revenue Authority within 72 hours of issuing the fine notice.

EPA Executive Director, Emmanuel Urey Yarkpawolo mandated immediate corrective actions, including renewing all expired permits, implementing fire safety measures, and storing oxygen tanks, among others.

Mr. Yarkpawolo said:” The facility has been mandated to immediately hire a third-party environmental consultant to begin conducting an environmental and safety audit.”

The EPA Executive Director, along with Police Inspector General, Col. Gregory Coleman and the Liberia National Fire Service Chief, toured the facility of the company recently following a full-scale technical investigation by the EPA.
