Agriculture Ministry Ends One-Day Visit to Fertilizer Plant in Fendell

MONTSERRADO COUNTY, LIBERIA-Deputy Agriculture Minister for Planning and Development, David Arqui has ended a one-day visit to the fertilizer production plant in Kortu Town in Fendell.

Speaking in an interview on Thursday, February 20, 2025, shortly after the visit, Minister Arqui expressed satisfaction that a Liberian company has begun the production of organic fertilizers, instead of using chemicals.

Minister Arqui stressed the need for a private-public partnership with Liber Sanitation Incorporated to produce more fertilizers for farmers in Liberia.

For his part, the Chief Executive Officer of Liber Sanitation Incorporated, Emmanuel Howe, said:” It is my dream to supply all Liberian farmers with fertilizers to improve local farming.”

Mr. Howe is, however, appealing to the government for support to increase the production of organic fertilizers rather than relying on imported chemicals.
