Agriculture Minister Institutes Measures…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Ministry of Agriculture says it is instituting measures aimed at establishing Quarantine Centers at various ports of entry in Liberia.

Deputy Agriculture Minister for Technical Services Solomon Hedd Williams said:” The setting up of these entry points will enable the Ministry to inspect the importation of unwarranted food and animal products entering the Country.”

Speaking to ELBC on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, Minister Hedd Williams said they are currently holding discussions with several government ministries and agencies to address the situation.

He said the move by the Ministry will discourage the importation of contaminated food items into the country.

Minister Hedd Williams observed that some institutions are constantly inspecting animal and food items at all ports of entry in violation of the regulatory mandate of the Ministry.
