Japanese Gov. Presents 1oo Yamaha Outboard Engines…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Japanese Government has presented at least one hundred pieces of 15-horsepower Yamaha Outboard Engines to the National Fisheries and Aquaculture Authority, to boost fishing activities in Liberia.

A release said the Japanese Government also provided NaFAA one hundred pieces of GPS Navigation Devices, one hundred pieces of Lifejackets, and one hundred pieces of Float Boat Security Lights, among others.

According to the release, the items were presented to the National Fisheries and Aquaculture Authority on Tuesday, by the Japanese Government through the Food and Agriculture Organization-FAO.

Making the presentation, a representative from FAO, Dr. Ahmed Gashash said:” The fishing gears are intended to enhance the fishery sector of Liberia, to meet current day realities.”

Meanwhile, the Director General of the National Fisheries and Aquaculture Authority, Emma Glassco, has extolled the Japanese Government for its continued support to Liberia.
