Liberia’s Nat’l Legislature’s Budget Reduced

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The budget of the National Legislature has been reduced from fifty-three to forty-two million United States Dollars in the 2025 National Budget.

The disclosure was made by the Chair of the Senate Committee on Ways, Means, Finance and Budget Senator, Prince Moye, Tuesday in Plenary at the Capitol.

Senator Moye said:” The Senate decided to reduce the National Legislature’s budget to enhance transparency and accountability in the effective execution of a program-based budget.”

Moye added that the Senate attributed the decrease in the National Legislature’s budget to the proactive stewardship of Senate Pro-Temp Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence.

The Ways, Means, Finance and Budget Committee Chairman disclosure is due to public perception that the National Legislature continues to increase its allocations in every budget year.
