Liberia Consoles Nigeria…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President Joseph Boakai has consoled the Government and people of Nigeria following the tragic death of at least seventy persons due to a petrol tanker explosion in Niger State.

On Saturday, January 18, 2025, a petrol tanker exploded in Niger State killing at least seventy persons and injuring fifty-six.

In his message to his Nigerian Counterpart, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, President Boakai expressed profound sadness for the death sustained.

According to a Foreign Ministry release issued, President Boakai, on behalf of Liberia, also extended condolences to the bereaved family for the immeasurable loss.

The Liberian Leader noted that the thoughts and prayers of Liberians are with the people of Nigeria during this period of national mourning.

President Joseph Boakai prayed that God will grant the Government and people of Nigeria the strength and resilience needed the navigate through this difficult period.
