Pres. Boakai Says Liberians Should Take Deliberate Actions…

GRAND BASSA COUNTY, LIBERIA-President Joseph Boakai wants Liberians to take deliberate actions in addressing challenges confronting the growth of the country.

President Boakai named high unemployment, low literacy rates, widespread poverty, poor infrastructure, and structural inequalities as major challenges that continue to impede development.

The Liberian Leader called on citizens from all spectrum of society to work together in tracking these crippling challenges.

He said:” To revitalize the economy, improve education and healthcare, and to ensure that the voices of citizens are heard, requires the collective effort of all.”

President Joseph Boakai made the assertions on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at the launch of the ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development (AAID) and the County Development Agendas (CDAs) in Grand Bassa County.

Meanwhile, UNICEF Representative to Liberia, Andrew Brooks, has described the launch of the Government of Liberia’s pilot birth project as a decisive step.

Mr. Brooks said:” The exercise is crucial for Liberia, especially when the country is advancing policies for full implementation of the Government’s ARREST Agenda.”

The UNICEF Country Representative believes that the pilot birth project, when implemented, will inform policymakers about the total population of kids in Liberia.

He praised the Liberian Government, especially the National Identification Registry for the successful launch of the initiative.

Mr. Andrew Brooks also reaffirmed UNICEF’s unflinching support for the protection and well-being of every Liberian child.
