UN Dev. Program Resident Rep. to Liberia Dia Presents Letter…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Foreign Minister Sara Beysolow-Nyanti has received the Letter of Accreditation of the newly appointed UN Development Program Resident Representative to Liberia, Aliou Dia.

According to a Foreign Ministry release issued, Mr. Dia presented the letter to Minister Beysolow-Nyanti on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at the Foreign Ministry in Monrovia.

The meeting reaffirmed the longstanding partnership between Liberia and the UNDP in advancing sustainable development and addressing critical socio-economic challenges.

During the high-level engagement, Minister Beysolow-Nyanti and Mr. Dia discussed key areas of collaboration, including poverty alleviation, governance, and institutional capacity building.

The release noted that both leaders also underscored the importance of aligning development initiatives with Liberia’s national priorities, ensuring efficient resource use, and delivering impactful and sustainable results.

Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Sara Beysolow-Nyanti has recognized the UNDP’s unwavering support in Liberia.

Minister Beysolow-Nyanti said:” The UNDP has been a steadfast partner in Liberia’s journey toward inclusive growth and sustainable development.”

The Dean of the Cabinet emphasized the indispensable role of international partnerships in driving transformative progress.

She reaffirmed the government’s commitment to fostering strong ties with the UNDP and other development partners to ensure the effective implementation of Liberia’s national development agenda.

For his part, the UNDP Resident Representative to Liberia, Aliou Dia, praised the Liberian Government for ongoing efforts to promote inclusive growth, good governance, and resilience.

Mr. Dia also reiterated the UNDP’s continued commitment to supporting Liberia’s strategic objectives and overcoming development challenges.

He stressed that enhanced collaboration between the Liberian Government and the UNDP will help achieve transformative change and empower communities for a brighter future.

The meeting concluded with a shared pledge to deepen collaboration and explore new avenues of partnership.

Both parties emphasized the need for innovative solutions and cohesive efforts to advance Liberia’s development aspirations.
