Liberian Senate Begins Budget Hearing Today

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Senate Committee on Ways, Means, Finance and Budget is expected to begin hearing on the 2025 Draft National Budget for fiscal year 2025 today, Thursday.

The Draft National Budget is in the tone of over eight hundred fifty-one million US Dollars.

According to a Senate release issued recently, the Ministries of Finance, Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA), Liberia Telecommunications Authority, Liberia Petroleum Refining Company, the National Road Fund, and the National Oil Company of Liberia (NOCAL), among others, will today, Thursday, December 12, 2024.

On Friday, December 13, the Ministries of Mines and Energy, the Liberia Maritime Authority, the National Port Authority, the National Fisheries and Aquaculture Authority, the Liberia National Police, and the National Fire Service will appear.

The release further noted that the public hearing will climax on Wednesday, next week, with the Ministries of Health, Agriculture, Justice, and Defense appearing, respectively.
