Congress for Democratic Change Expels Vice Chair for Operations Fallah

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) has expelled Deputy House Speaker, Thomas Fallah, from the Party.

The Party cited disciplinary breaches and a need to maintain unity and constitutional order within its ranks.

Deputy Speaker Fallah’s expulsion was based on recommendations from the Party’s National Disciplinary Committee, and it has also issued a seven-day ultimatum to suspend CDC lawmakers to return to the Party.

It warned that in the absence of their return, the Party would decide to expel them.

This is happening at the back of the recent political impasse at the House of Representatives on Capitol Hill, in Monrovia.

Meanwhile, Deputy House Speaker and Vice Chair for Operations of the CDC Fallah has welcomed the decision of the Party.

As one of the most astute leaders and pioneers of the CDC, Deputy Speaker Fallah described his expulsion as arbitrary, baseless, and unilateral.

He said:” Despite the requirement of due process, no procedure was followed, nor was there any hearing or formal investigation conducted to ascertain the allegations against me.”

According to a release issued, the Deputy Speaker also termed his expulsion as a stark contradiction by those who profess to uphold law and order.

The former CDC Vice Chair for Operations emphasized that his leadership, both past and present, has always been driven by a commitment to the best interests of the people and the CDC.

He, however, reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to the values and principles that initially inspired him to help establish the CDC. Addressing his expulsion from the CDC, the Deputy House Speaker acknowledged the pain caused by the decision but vowed not to let it deter him from fulfilling his duties to the Liberian people.
