Internal Affairs Minister Nyumalin Unveils Plan with Nat’l Elections Commission to…

LOFA COUNTY, LIBERIA-Internal Affairs Minister Francis Nyumalin has disclosed that discussions are underway with the National Elections Commission (NEC) and other stakeholders regarding the upcoming Chieftaincy Elections across the country.

Minister Nyumalin said:” President Boakai is interested in the electoral process, as outlined in Article 56 (b) of the Liberian Constitution.

He made the remarks on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, during the appointment and induction of acting local chiefs in Kolahun and other regions of Lofa County.

The Internal Affairs Minister explained that the appointments are temporary measures to fill vacant positions in accordance with the Local Government Act of 2018 until the Chieftaincy Elections take place.

Minister Francis Nyumalin urged local leaders to perform their duties with loyalty, selflessness, and integrity in upholding the trust and confidence placed in them by their communities.
