Gov. of Liberia Clarifies….

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Government of Liberia has clarified that it did not re-submit the 2025 Draft National Budget to the National Legislature, as is being speculated on social media.

The Minister of Information, Jerolinmek Piah, said:” The budget submitted by the Executive Branch on November 18, to the Chief Clerk of the House of Representatives remains valid.”

Minister Piah noted that when the budgets are submitted to the National Legislature, each member of the House of Representatives is entitled to a copy in preparation for the budget debate.

He reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to engaging with the National Legislature in ensuring that subsequent passage of the Draft National Budget is achieved.

Information Minister Jerolinmek Piah clarified on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, on the ELBC Nightline program in Paynesville.

At the same time, the Information Ministry on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, launched its Tourism Working Group at the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Ministerial Complex in Congo Town.

The official launch was performed by the Chairperson, Information Minister Jerolinmek Piah.

During the program, Minister Piah praised institutions of the Government of Liberia and international partners that have supported Liberia’s Tourism Sector, over the years.

Information Minister Jerolinmek Piah disclosed that the conservation of Liberia’s Biodiversity is an essential element for ECO-Tourism in the country.
